With a broad range of international experience, Christopher Solek seamlessly integrates architecture and interior design at all scales.
He graduated with honors in architecture from the University of Technology Sydney in 2004 before becoming a registered architect.
His interest in design began while visiting his father's workshop at the renowned Australian furniture maker Parker as a child. Then as his family searched for a new home and visited open houses, he walked the empty rooms to get a sense of the layout. As a result, he began collecting international home design magazines and studying the modern homes pictured inside.
After working with top design firms in Sydney, Christopher moved to New York, where he took on the role of lead designer for the high-profile redevelopment of the iconic TWA Hotel. Drawing inspiration from legendary modernists like Eero Saarinen, Christopher infused the hotel’s interiors, furniture, and fixtures with his signature modernist style.
Since then, he has contributed to prestigious projects across the United States, Mexico, Sydney Harbour, and Europe, and designed ultra-modern homes in the Hudson Valley and Australia.
His self-initiated design case study, the Getaway Abode Collection, showcases his expertise in both hospitality and residential design, providing innovative solutions for weekend getaways, compact homes, and guest accommodations around the world. ❚
